Got Bloggers Block? Try This

BloggersBlockThis weekend I created a Pig Gift Guide for my pig blog. That’s right, I have a Pig Lovers Blog. Why? Well, I do like pigs, but the main reason I started it was to practice using WordPress without the pressure of having to make it perfect. Perfection is a slammed door to achievement.

For those who are planning to blog for business or if you’re already blogging but feel stuck, you might consider doing this too.

Is there something you have an interest in that has nothing to do with your work? Biking? Cooking? Beer? Music? Parenting? Farmers markets?

Think about starting a blog with zero expectations, and you’d be surprised how much you learn in such a relaxed state. Whether you write one post or many, it can serve as a place for you to experiment, get comfortable and just play around.

Is my pig blog silly? Absolutely! But it’s also useful in terms of the practice I gain from it.

Get in touch with your silly side to conquer bloggers block.

This strategy can be used for other social media tasks as well; a bird watcher’s Twitter account, where you Tweet (pun intended) your latest species sightings, or perhaps a Facebook Fan page honoring your favorite hair bands from the 80′s. Have fun, learn, succeed!

I love any article that includes a photo of Ralph. He’s my hero.
