Who Cares What ‘Socially Responsible Business’ Means?

whocaressrbThis blog is all about socially responsible business. So do you think it is necessary for me to define what that means?

I’m gonna have to say no, and here’s why:

Everyone has their own idea of what socially responsible business means to them. Who am I to tell YOU what it means?

Even if I could, coming up with a definition would be difficult because it’s a constantly evolving landscape involving various degrees of commitment. There are all sorts of businesses engaged in socially responsible practices. At what point can they claim to BE a socially responsible business? And who decides when that point has been reached?

The closest I’ve come to defining what constitutes a socially responsible business is this; businesses that value equally the triple bottom line of people, planet and profit and incorporate this mindset into its daily practices.

Beyond that, you’ll find no clear lines drawn in the socially responsible business sand. Do Good Biz is here to engage business people doing a lot or a little and everything in between to help make this world a better place through business.

What does socially responsible business mean to you?

Spocially responsible Business, means …as to me …the one which incalcuates the social costs that are in most cases of business undertaking totally or partially forgoten. Apart from this, those businesses which are not responsible, at leas at agreable definition level, have been observed that, their social-costs are in many cases not visible to those parties who are promoting the business which (the business undertaking)is in different ways exploiting the endowments of nature, upon which the society is dewalled…and the by products as well as expected outcomes of the undertaking are foundout dangerously-coraptive…!
